Corvette - Museum DeliveryI ordered my car on my birthday - June 23, 2001. It was built October 9, 2001, and I picked it up at the Corvette Museum on November 2, 2001. I ordered the car before I was able to see the color in person - Electron Blue. There were some early pictures posted by GM of the color, but the scenery had a pink background and really made the color look light. I was nervous, but then Casey and I found an Electron Blue convertible on the ground in Houston a few weeks after placing the order. It was a much darker blue and needless to say, I was happy. [Insert pics of the ugly blue car here] Option R8C on the Corvette is the option to pick up your car at the Corvette Museum. The car is on display in the museum waiting for your arrival. You can read more about Museum Delivery at the Corvette Museum. Prior to ordering the car, I was going crazy trying to figure out information about the rumored upgrades to the 2002 model. That was when I found www.corvetteforum.com and www.z06vette.com. My handle on both sites is "chrisj". Before picking up the car, I even got a banner from z06vette so that I could take pictures at the museum and on the way home. I have posted a handful of them on their site, and here as well. In return for showing the banner on the Corvette Museum's delivery webcam, some of the members captured images from the webcam and put them together in a movie format. Click here to see my delivery movie. There was another Electron Blue Z06 scheduled to be picked up the same day I got mine, and there was one scheduled the day before as well. We were all members of z06vette, so we met in Nashville (as Casey likes to say - like a bunch of big dorks) to meet in person and snap some pictures of the cars together.
